I may or may not be on my third day of shooting an episode that is all about Astrid. I wanted to share this with you because I am sure that somehow, some way, collectively, all of you Astrid fans had something to do with the character getting more screen time and a (beautiful) story. So thank you for your support and your voices. And when this episode airs, thank Jeff and Joel and Akiva for listening!
Astrid is smart in exactly all the ways I am not. And I would imagine that I am smart in all the ways she isn’t; together we would make one completely awesome curly-headed person. She is my doppleganger who didn’t doodle in science class and made it through calculus with flying colors. But she’s got nothing on my Show Choir awards and AP English skills.

An episode from Astrid’s POV would be perfect. And I want it. Badly.30 Days of Awesome Females on TV Meme
Day Seven: A female character that needs more screen time - Astrid Farnsworth (Fringe)
Asterisk, Astro, Asteroid, Astringent, Astral, Asprin, Asterix, Astricks, Ostrich, Ester Figgleworth
The fact that I couldn’t find a good place to find quotes of her is indication enough that there’s not nearly enough Astrid. I love her and Walter’s relationship, it’s sweet and tender and funny, but I want to see what Astrid herself gets up to (and beret wearing Altstrid as well). She’s Walter’s assistant/handler and really puts herself into the job a lot more than someone else might. She’s patient with Walter, but not afraid to put her foot down on certain things. Astrid is clearly smart and usually the go-to gal for computer related research, but she also is getting her hands dirtier and dirtier with some of Walter’s more … unusual experiments.
My biggest wish is to see an entire episode in Astrid’s Point of View, with the main plot being sort of the in the background, so we can get a deep look into her head and see what her life is actually like, but I’d settle for her having more interaction with Olivia.

Day 4 | Favourite standalone episode
What Lies Below
Outbreak: Fringe style. Walter at the children’s science museum with the story that becomes relevant later about when you open new doors, there is a price to pay. Olivia and Peter getting stuck in the building with the virus. Astrid in the field! Peter telling Olivia ‘I thought that was the point of having people who care about you in your life… to have someone to talk to when you’re scared.’ And she just looks at him like ‘But I have you.’ The receptionist that makes Peter get infected. The panic that ensues, the rush to find the cure, the desperation to save Peter. Olivia freaking the fuck out after Peter gets infected because she just cannot lose him and going beyond the call of duty to ensure that he will live. Broyles telling the dickwad of a CDC field director there are people in there that are like family to me. Aw, Broyles! :’) Peter pulling Olivia’s own gun on her but not shooting despite having the virus that will do anything to get outside in him. Astrid confronting Walter When you said, ‘I can’t let Peter die again…’ what did you mean by that? to which he replies Some things are meant to be left alone, Agent Farnsworth. Just a solid and beautifully done episode.

Astrid: Walter. Hi.
Walter: I know what Belly left me.
Astrid: Oh?
Walter: He left me Massive Dynamic. I’m the sole shareholder.

Astrid: Hey. Walter. Is everything okay?
Walter: No.
Astrid: This is from Bell? It’s a key to a safety deposit box.
Walter: It’s an old argument. Belly and I spent days discussing the wisdom of crossing the line. “Only those that risk going too far can possibly know how far they can go.” That’s what Belly used to say.
Astrid: So you were the cautious one?
Walter: He was over there. He saw what I did, all that I destroyed. How can he tell me to cross the line?
Astrid: Walter, you saved Peter’s life. I know that there were consequences, but Peter has got to understand why you made the choices you made. You’ve talked to him, haven’t you?
Walter: I’ve been waiting for the right moment.
Astrid: Walter, you said you were gonna do that days ago. He has got to hear your side of the story.

Walter: Maybe I’m overdressed. Maybe I should change anyway.
Astrid: Walter, you look fine.
Walter: No, I don’t think I can do this.
Astrid: Walter, it’s gonna be okay. You look lovely.

Walter: The Hadron Super Collider is less complicated than that infernal dishwasher.
Astrid: Next time don’t use laundry detergent and the dishwasher will work fine.
Walter: Thank you, Astrid. You’re a Federal Agent. I doubt, during your years of training, that you had dreams of babysitting a helpless old man.
Astrid: You are not that helpless. A little disorganized, maybe.
