And so you, person, just think with no facts that most viewers who idolize Olivia are teenage girls? Well first of all it will be “mostly teenage girls” and this is you just making up statistics of viewership in your head. Regardless of that? Sure, the younger female crowd is common among Fringe fans on Tumblr. But it’s only Tumblr and we don’t make up the true percentage of Fringe viewers across the world who probably do love and idolize Olivia.
Is it so wrong to have a strong, selfless, and fearless woman as an idol? When I started watching I was just about to turn 18, thank you very much. And I turn 21 the day after the premiere of season 4 (btw what a great gift, I can finally do a drinking game, boozeyah). I not only idolize her, but I strongly identify with Olivia. She had a hard life and has only become stronger because of it. There’s a quote out there that perfectly sums up Olivia and why I idolize her. And this doesn’t have to be in regards to me being just past teenagerdom.

There is nothing wrong at all with being a young woman and idolizing her, or any gender of any age and idolizing Olivia. She is a great character to identify with and look up to. She’s perseveres under the greatest hardships, she finds strength through her pain and she is selfless to a fault. And that is exactly why I love her.
